1994Spring Reported 5/30 into early July (singing male) Sibley State Park, Kandiyohi Co. RF, mob (The Loon 66:209–210).
1994Summer Only second summer record for the state (first was in 1987). Singing adult male discovered at Sibley S.P., Kandiyohi Co. in late May (DWi; The Loon 66:210–211) was seen by mob. into early July.
1994Fall Photographed 10/8 Stillwater, Washington Co., JL (The Loon 66:211).
1994Winter A record late individual was reported at a feeder in Rockford, Wright Co. from 12/7 until 12/10 when it died, and the specimen was retrieved (The Loon 67:65–66). Thirteenth record for state, the latest date by two months, and the first winter record.
1995Spring Reported 5/18 into summer, Sibley State Park, Kandiyohi Co. RF/JC, mob. This singing male was undoubtedly the same individual seen here in 1994.
1995Summer Male on territory at Sibley S.P. in Kandiyohi Co. for second consecutive year; observed from spring season (The Loon 67:226) into August.
1995Fall Only report: 8/5 Kandiyohi (Sibley S.P.) SC.
1996Spring Only reports: 4/28–5/5 (singing male returned for the third consecutive year) Sibley State Park, Kandiyohi Co. mob, 5/19 Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Hennepin Co. TT.
1996Summer Male on territory at Sibley State Park in Kandiyohi for third consecutive summer (mob).
1996Fall Only report 8/27 Kandiyohi (male still at Sibley S. P.) TBr.
1997Spring All documented reports: 4/27 Rice (Northfield, The Loon 69:229–230) PHi, 5/13–16 Hennepin (south Minneapolis) MMo, mob, 5/18 Hennepin (Old Cedar Avenue, The Loon 69:229) HT, 5/19 Dakota (Lebanon Hills) REv, 5/23–24 Marshall (Agassiz NWR) mob. An unprecedented five records in one season; two additional reports remain undocumented.

1999Spring Reported 5/6+ Kandiyohi (pair at Sibley S. P.) RE, RJF et al.
1999Summer At least one bird observed 6/12 – 7/24 at Sibley S.P. in Kandiyohi Co. mob (also see spring report). This is the same site at which one or more were seen from 1994 through 1997, and where nesting was documented in 1997.
2000Spring One to two adults reported 5/13+ Kandiyohi (Sibley S. P.) RE, RJF, †PS.
2000Summer All reports: seen through 6/17 Kandiyohi (at least one pair at Sibley S.P. where this species has occurred almost every year since 1994) RJF; also 6/18, 6/24 Washington (William O'Brien S.P.) †DCZ, CF (The Loon 73:62–63).
2000Fall One discovered in summer at William O'Brien S.P. in Washington County (The Loon 73:62–63) was refound 8/2 by †AXH, RBJ.
2001Summer A pair discovered 6/11 at Acacia Cemetery in Dakota Co. †JMa, †TAT, †BAF remained into July, were observed and photographed by many, and provided the state's second nesting record (3 young fledged).
2001Fall One seen 8/24 Dakota (Ft. Snelling S.P.) †RBJ, another observed 9/8–9 Dakota (Acacia Cemetery) †TAT. Both possibly related to Summer 2002 nesting at Acacia Cemetery (The Loon 73:236–240).
2003Fall One reported 10/25–30 Otter Tail (Fergus Falls) ph. GSW, †SPM, m.obs.
2005Spring Only accepted record: 5/15 Morrison (Belle Plaine C.P.) †BWF et al.
2008Spring1 First spring report in 3 years, 5/25 Dakota (Dodge N.C.) †LWh.

This pair successfully nested into the summer season.
2016Summer2 Continuing from spring through 7/25 Winona (Whitewater S.P.) and 7/27 Hennepin (Minneapolis, Gold Medal Park) m.ob. First county breeding record Hennepin (6/21, carrying food; 6/23–24 adult feeding at least two fledglings) a.t. †BAF (The Loon 88:84–85). Third successful nesting and fourth attempted breeding in the state.
