1971Fallfirst state record: 9-25 Cottonwood, Lyon Co. PE; seen and heard well; details will be published here in full.
1977Spring 5-29 Roseau Co., Pelan Park (1 singing) Dennis Paulson, TS; see Note of Interest Loon 49:169-170.
1977Summer After the initial sighting on 5-29 by D. Paulson at Pelan, Roseau Co., many observers saw a female build a nest and incubate eggs during June; a second bird, the presumed male, was only seen on 6-9 and 6-10; photos were taken and a tape of the calling female was recorded (KE); the last report was on 7-8 when DGW observed the female feeding 3 young near the nest; only the second state record.
1977Fall One bird still at nesting location 8-1 Roseau (BB).
1978Summer Seen in Pelan Park, Roseau Co. (610, bldg. nest, DGW; 6-25, SV).
1989Summer One singing male 6/22 Sax-Zim bog area, St. Louis Co. (The Loon 61:147-148); fifth record for the state.
1992Summer Sixth Minnesota record; last reported in summer of 1989. One singing bird observed 6/21–29 at Hayes Lake S. P. in Roseau Co. KB, mob (The Loon 64:179).
2007Summer1 Found 6/21–7/21 Jackson (Des Moines River) MCBS. Photos and video, including recording of call, by KJB, EMu. Nest-building observed 6/21 with adult feeding at least one chick in the nest 7/21; thought to be mated to an Eastern Wood-Pewee.
2017Summer11 Reported 6/3–7/24+ Clay (Buffalo River S.P.) v.t. †MO, v.t. †RMD, †AXH, †TAT, †JuW, †PCC, m.ob. This bird was extensively documented with descriptions, photos, and audio recordings (The Loon 90:34–35).
2017Fall1 Fourth fall record continued from summer at Buffalo River S.P., Clay, reported through 8/26 ph. † RMD, a.t., ph. † PEB, m.ob. (The Loon 90: 34–35).
 
 Nine records: one spring-fall, four summer, one summer-fall, and three fall. Two breeding records (1977, 2007), both involving an unidentified Contopus sp. Recorded in one (2017) of the last ten years.
