1988Fall 10/1 Dakota ITand 9/22 Itasca S. P., Clearwater Co. The Itasca State Park record is still under consideration by MORC.
2007Fall1 An adult female photographed 9/2 in Jackson (Spirit L., ph. †SJD, ph. †JGi, †ETh) was the first confirmed record of this species in Minnesota (The Loon 80:106–107), following three prior records of the Fregata genus: 2 individuals in 1988 and another in 2005.
2021Summer1 Observed 6/8 Mille Lacs (Mille Lacs L., Wahkon Bay) †ThJ, camera phone photo by 12-year old Grant Warner.
 
 Four records: one summer, and three fall. Recorded in one (2021) of the last ten years. Two additional fall records of Fregata sp. (2005, 2016).
