A White Ibis seen in good light at a range of 50 yards, as was the case here , should clearly show the red face, bill and legs; however, these were only described as "black or very dark." This species is also eliminated by the "narrow edge of black on all flight feathers;" on White Ibis black only appears on the tips of the few outermost primaries. Speculation was that this may have been an escaped Sacred Ibis (Threskiomis aethiopicus); this species not only fits the description , but also a Sacred Ibis was apparently reported about the same time not far from this location . | Not Accepted | ||||
