'Accidental' in Minnesota - First record for Jackson County in the Spring season
Immature Brown Pelican in comparison with American White Pelican at Little Spirit Lake, Jackson Co.
Originally found by Ed Thelen in Iowa, Tony Hertzel and Peder Svengin independently found this Brown Pelican in Jackson county Minnesota on 2005 July 16 at 8:45 am. Ed also independently refound the bird and reporting it on Little Spirit Lake after it had moved. This will be a first state record of this bird, if accepted. The bird is on Little Spirit Lake in Jackson county. It can be viewed from the boat launch on the North side of the lake. Little Spirit lake is NW of Spirit Lake, on the Minnesota/Iowa border.
