Wood Duck in Douglas County

Occasional in Douglas County in the Winter season

Went over to Goose Park in Alexandria to see the Mallards and Canada Geese. Was really surprised to find a beautiful drake Wood Duck among the hundreds of Mallards on the ice. One has been reported here in prior years over the winter months, and it was fun to see one so close to the road!
