Common in Lake County in the Fall season
This juvenile was accompanied by an adult (probably a female) that was perched on the nearby rooftop of the former MNDOT garage along Hwy 61 NE of Silver Bay. On the previous day both a male and female Peregrine were standing on the edge of a shallow pond at this site, where a Semipalmated Plover and Lesser Yellowlegs were both foraging – even though the two falcons were only about 50 feet away. Presumably, this family group of Peregrines had nested at nearby Palisade Head.
