'Casual' in Minnesota - First record for Lac qui Parle County in the Spring season
On the evening of the 20 June 2006 an adult California Gull was present at the north end of Lac Qui Parle Lake, Swift and Lac Qui Parle counties. The gull was first found standing alone on a small island in Swift County just east of where Hwy 119 crosses the lake. It was seen at 7:00-7:20PM and was still present when I left. I returned to the area at 9:00PM and found the bird now flying over the Lac Qui Parle County shore and then it settled with a group of Ring-billed Gulls on a small grassy peninsula to roost at sunset.
