'Rare Regular' in Minnesota

Thayer's Gull (adult non-breeding) Canal Park, Duluth. Fun to see an adult for a change! Note small rounded head, small bill (compared to nearby Herrings), brighter pink legs, raspberry pink orbital ring. This is a light-eyed bird (only 20% of adults per Peterson Gulls guide)...Most have dark eyes. Obviously smaller than nearby Herring Gulls). Neat bird.
