'Rare Regular' in Minnesota
Iceland Gull near the mouth of Miller Creek off 27th Ave West, Duluth, Minnesota, 5 April 2009. This individual was first found in this area 30 January 2009, and it has been seen regularly at this location or at Canal Park since that time. Presumably the same bird was seen at the Superior Landfill, Douglas County, Wisconsin, in early January 2009. It was also documented at Kendall's Smoke House in Knife River, Lake County, Minnesota, 20 February 2009. As the gull flies, the distance from the mouth of Miller Creek to the Superior Landfill is 9.75 miles, while the distance from either the mouth of Miller Creek or the Superior Landfill to Kendall's Smoke House in Knife River is just over 20 miles.
