'Rare Regular' in Minnesota

Overwintering adult male Barrow's Goldeneye at Canal Park, Duluth, St. Louis County, 28 February 2009. This bird has also been seen on Lake Superior off 21st Ave East and from Leif Erickson Park in Duluth. It was rediscovered off 21st Ave East by Mike Hendrickson 26 December 2008, and has been seen on a regular basis by many observers throughout January and February 2009. Though not reported at Park Point after mid-November, Mike and I both believe that this is probably the same bird first found off 32nd Street, Park Point, Duluth, 1 November 2008.
