'Accidental' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Cook County for the Fall season
November and December are prime months in which to look for alcids. Here's a little graphic showing all Upper Midwest alcid records for November-December (plus the last week or so of October). The image depicts accepted records from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario. Note that the first half of alcid season is dominated by Dovekies and Ancient Murrelets, while the larger species tend to occur more often in the latter half.
