Purple Sandpiper in Lake County

'Accidental' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Lake County for the Spring season

This Purple Sandpiper was seen and photographed by Heidi Pinkerton and others at what was described as the "beach" at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. This sighting represents the 7th Minnesota record, the first spring record for the state (the previous 6 records were from fall/early winter), and a first for Lake County.
