Occasional in Dakota County in the Winter season

Minnesota River at west end outflow of Black Dog Lake. What is probably the same adult has been seen regularly since 12/04/11 at Lake Calhoun, L. Harriet, and Old Cedar Ave. Bridge (Hennepin Co.), Kaposia Landing (Ramsey Co.), and Black Dog. This is only the second Franklin's Gull recorded in January in Minnesota; the first was an adult that overwintered 2009-2010 at widely scattered locations around the Twin Cities.
