American Tree Sparrow in Washington County

Common in Washington County in the Winter season

We found the Townsend's solitaire at the Carpenter Nature Center cavorting with a group of American tree sparrows. The sparrow was taking in a little sun and provided a better photo than the by now well documented solitaire. They were located in the brush by the birch log pile along the Savanna Trail after the River Overlook (use your trail map).
