Uncommon in Hennepin County in the Fall season
I happened upon these by accident at the Bass Ponds as a didn't follow the beaver pond reference. Doubtless these are the same birds as reported earlier and presumably the location is as well. There were eight. Based on the constant chatter of the foraging birds and the breast and tail pattern, I'd concur with the earlier I.D. But then again, they are dowitchers, so my confidence level is about 50%. These birds were remarkably tame and couldn't care less that I was there.
