'Rare Regular' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Polk County for the Spring season
My husband, Terry Johnson, spotted the Western Tanager at our sunflower feeder on Friday, May 27, 2011. By the time he got out with his camera it was no longer at the feeder. Searching for it, he spotted it in a pine tree and was able to get a picture. The picture was 'OK'; good enough for identifying the bird. The next day I seen it at our orange feeder. Terry was able to get a better picture and that is the one I submitted.
Terry Johnson Camera: Nikon D3000; Lens: Sigma 150-500 zoom. Set on auto focus at 500.
