Laughing Gull in St. Louis County

'Casual' in Minnesota

I was out this morning from 8am - 9:30am looking for the gull as were other birders without any luck. I came back to Park Point around 4pm and birded with Peder Svingen. Word got out at 4:30pm that Jan Green spotted the Laughing Gull at Canal Park. Peder and I stopped at Herding Island with hopes the Laughing Gull stopped here but we spotted instead a Iceland Gull, Thayer's Gull and a Great Black-backed Gull but no Laughing Gull. We arrived at Canal Park at 5:30pm and tossed bread to some Herring Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls and finally at 6:30pm the Laughing Gull showed up and fed on the bread we were tossing out and allowed us to get some photographs of this rare gull!
