Common in Rice County in the Spring season
Red-headed Woodpeckers have returned to a location in Faribault where I haven't seen them for the last 7-8 years. I wonder if this bird could be a descendant of those nesting birds. Unfortunately, the snag in which this bird is nesting, along with some other dead trees in the area, has a ribbon around the base indicating that it is slated for removal. I've alerted the landowner to the presence of the nesting birds.
