Common in St. Louis County in the Winter season

photographed at Canal Park. About 300 Common Goldeneyes spend most of their time here during the winter months feeding underwater grabbing food off the breakwalls ( Zebra Mullusks and plant material ). They are quite shy birds but if you slightly peak your head up with your camera ready you can quickly grab some images before they fly away.
