Red-tailed Hawk in Big Stone County

Common in Big Stone County in the Fall season

I found this light morph juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk at Bonanza Prairie SNA in Big Stone County, hovering in place like a Rough-Legged Hawk. It held position for 3 minutes before dropping straight down on a vole. It's the first time I've seen a Red-Tail hunt like that.
