Yellow Rail in McGregor Marsh, Aitkin County. Seven calling last night (June 13). Kim Risen has had many more in the area. Good year for Yellow Rails! Took 1.5 hours to see him in the sedge marsh (in the full company of mosquito hordes, and stumbling around in waders) . Bird called, preened, slept all within 15 feet of me (once I found him).
