First record for Beltrami County
22 Willets stopped right in downtown Bemidji last evening. First found by William Knudson at the waterfront by Paul and Babe but not to be found anywhere this morning. The birds were actively feeding in the waves and seemed little bothered by human traffic although when an unknowing beach walker came within about 5 feet of them the flock lifted up and relocated about 20 yards away. Some of the birds didn't have the exact plumage as this one, looking a bit more like last year's young.
